Awards

Outstanding Youth Award

An annual award given to two enrolled 4-H members.  They are active members who have promoted 4-H within their club and county.  This award recognizes youth who exhibit 4-H spirit and are all around outstanding members.  Must be an enrolled  in 4-H youth in good standing of an Adams County 4-H Club for at least 2 years.  Recommendation can be from a 4-H member, leader or volunteeer who is not an immediate family member.  Youth has demonstrated outstanding leadership practices in their club and at the county level – please give specific examples.

Friend of 4-H

An annual award given to two non-4-H community member/business that has had a positive impact on 4-H in Adams County.  They will have exhbited outstanding service to Adams County 4-H through volunteering or sponsorship.  Nominations can be made by any 4-H member, club, or family.

Ivan Morrow Outstanding Award

The Ivan Morrow Outstanding Volunteer Award is an annual award given to two 4-H volunteers.  This award is given to recognize volunteers who have given outstanding service to Adams County 4-H at the club or county level. Nominees must be an enrolled 4-H volunteer in good standing of an Adams County 4-H club for at least 2 years.  A completed nomination form must be submitted by the deadline of October 1st.  A leader may win this award once every 5 years.

Parents, volunteers, and youth may join a county committee at any time.  Watch for meeting dates/times in the 4-H newsletter and attend.  These committees help plan and implement the following activities.  If interested in joining a committee, contact someone on the committee or the UWEX office.

 Leaders Association Purpose

The purpose of this Association is to supplement and enhance the learning experiences provided to the 4-H clubs within Adams County and to assist in the coordination of learning experiences and financial support of Adams County 4-H youth members, 4-H volunteer/leaders in county, District, State, Regional, National and International events.  Voting membership in this Association shall be open for participation to any adult 4-H leader who is an enrolled leader and has completed the Youth Protection Process.  Voting membership is also open to youth enrolled in the Youth Leadership project, 6th grade and up of the current 4-H year.  The Association agrees that membership or participation in 4-H will follow the state guideline book, to be changed automatically as the State amends.

Executive Board Purpose

The purpose of the Executive Board is to make recommendations on issues for discussion and action by the organizations members, and is accountable to the membership of the organization.  The leadership roles that the board provides include:  organizational planning, policy making that relates to the 4-H leader organization, enforcement of policies, grievance handling, legal responsiblities and financial responsibilities.

All meetings are on the 3rd Monday of the month at the Community Center
Winter Hours 5:30 pm,
Summer Hours 6:00 pm

 *Leaders Association Meeting Schedule

All meetings are every other month at the Community Center and begin after the Executive Board meeting
Winter Hours 6:30 pm, Summer Hours 7:00 pm
